The Respirator Selection Tool is based on the NIOSH Respirator Selection Logic (2004). Respirator classes are consistent with respirator certification groupings as specified in the NIOSH Guide to the Selection and Use of Particulate Respirators (Certified under 42 CFR 84).

This mobile application was developed by the IUOE National Training Fund (NTF). The NTF provides curriculum, technical services, and direct training to local union instructors. This enables them to deliver Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER), OSHA Construction and General Industry Outreach, MSHA Miner, and other safety and health courses. NTF train-the-trainer and trainer refresher classes provide instructors with the necessary technical skills and knowledge related to workplace hazards so they can teach classes at their home local union training programs.
